Forgiving your sins but leaving you broken is not part of His plan.
Psalm 23 says that, as our Shepherd, "He restores my soul." God creates us anew and seats Himself in our innermost being - our spirit. From there He begins to align the rest of us with the new
man or woman He has created us to be.
Part of this alignment or sanctification process is inner healing. Your new man
is not a wounded man. It is a healed person. As we work out our salvation with fear and trembling, the great Healer of our souls begins to repair our brokenness.
This healing process is definitely a partnership between us and God. We must allow Him to enter the wounded areas of our lives and mend them. We tend to protect and defend the battered places of our heart. Learning to trust again may not be easy, but we must allow God to bring His healing
rain to these areas. His heart is to always do us good. Whatever He touches will always be better. He is our great Physician.
